"So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing." (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
Sorry it's been so long since there was a new post here. Conversation on the blog died down when we had to switch to a site where people were forced to log in in order to post a comment, and the whole point of having the blog was that it would be a tool for us to continue conversations throughout the week and build stronger community. Anyway, time to give it another shot.
I feel like encouragement is so important to build community, so that seemed like the perfect topic to kickoff our renewed commitment to the blog. Consider this post to be your personal platform to build up your fellow believers. Tell someone how their faith has been an encouragement to you, thank someone for an act of service to the community that you've noticed, show your appreciation for the virtues you've noticed in others. Here's your opportunity...
How do you feel about having our services on Sat evenings?

you know who encourages me simply by the power of presence? george and may bebawi. they just move with such a quiet (and sometimes, not-so-quiet) sense of peace. that's probably the best word i have to describe them: they radiate peace.
laura garcia. don't get me wrong, having two boys of my own shows me how hard it is to raise them ... and i have sally as a partner. laura does it on her own. and despite each week's battles, she makes it to the gathering, anxious to learn and grow more.
tim and marilyn hartzell. they are just so faithful. i can always count on a smile or hug or word of encouragement out of them.
jenn and andy baumgartner. they are like the glue that holds my fellowship universe together. they are "humble service" personified. they would freak out to see them highlighted in anyway, which only goes on to speak for their character. they embody what it means to be community.
Pati DeCicco. she's such a behind the scenes tireless worker. doing the little tasks that need to be done, finding the spiritual act of service in the mundane.
hey, this is kind of fun.
Maurice Broaddus. For sending mid-week reminders for special services and notifying us each week of what is going on at The Dwelling Place. I also appreciate the fact that I can actually look him in the eye without having to look up. :-)
I want to thank all of you at DP for being so genuinely welcoming on Sunday mornings.
My little nephew, Shane, loves to be with the kids at DP. Thanks kids for being his friend! Thanks to all of the Adult Childcare Peeps for engaging him and the rest of those little guys!
Also, my mom was in town and gathered at the DP on Easter Sunday. She is going through a rough patch these days. Many of you greeted her with hugs and hellos and I just knoooooow that her heart needed that...thanks for loving her!
Thanks,
Talisha
The ministry team or staff are very encouraging to me. I sometimes forget how much they do (until I volunteer for something) thanks for all the hard work and effort that goes into making the place run & in feeding our spiritual growth!!! You guys are a blessing each in their own gifted way.
I also appreciate the fact that we can all be from different backgrounds and know we all still love the Lord, etc. So thanks for that too - it is a rare gift as well!
